We’re Hiring!
That is to say, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is hiring. I’m going to put aside what I was planning to write today (a thrilling post on the necessity of persistent identifiers for art objects, if you must know) and enter a plea to those of you who occasionally visit this space. As most of you are aware, I lead the Interpretive Technology team at the Met, and we have had a recent departure from the team that we are currently looking to fill. If you are a developer and are interested in/have experience with:
- Digital Asset Management
- UI design
- Interpretation via mobile devices
- The Semantic Web
- Art!
…then I think I may have a job for you. You should preferably live in the greater New York area, and be prepared to argue (often at length) with other members of the team. If you’re interested, please contact me for more information at info[at]kovenjsmith[dot]com.
I emphasize that this is a developer position–your technical skills should be listed upfront. Please don’t contact me if you’re a marketing person, a middle manager, or if you “leverage solutions for greater ROI.” Thanks.
Full position profile can be found here. Feel free to forward/repost this post as you see fit. That is all.
